Songwriter, producer and artist Jason Ingram (Essential Music Publishing, Showdown Publishing) set a Gospel Music Association record last week at the 42nd Annual GMA Dove Award nominations announcement by being the only person in the history of the organization to receive 11 Dove Award nominations in one awards season.

Science Channel Acquires Rights to Firefly
Entertainment Weekly reports that the Science Channel has acquired the rights to “Firefly” and is planning to air the Joss Whedon series in its entirety and in the right order. This will be the first time fans have had the opportunity to watch the series
on a fully distributed basic cable channel since 2008, when it ran on USA Network.

42nd Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards’ nominations announced
The nominees for the 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards were announced today from the Grand Salon of the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, instead of being announced in Nashville, Tennessee, as has been the tradition for the past 4 decades. TobyMac and Chris Tomlin topped the list of artist nominees with six nominations each, while Jason Crabb took five, and Francesca Battistelli garnered four nominations in Christian music’s most prestigious awards show.

With Lindsey Lohan’s probation hearing set for February 23, 2011, Prison Minister Marty Angelo of Marty Angelo Outreach Ministry to Prisons, Substance Abuse Recovery Programs and Troubled Celebrities, sent a letter to Lindsey Lohan on February 9, suggesting a faith-based residential treatment program to the young actress. This was not the first time Angelo has reached out to Lohan.

Not much is known about the true origins of Valentines Day or who the real St. Valentine was. The Catholic Encyclopedia indicates that the saint whose feast was celebrated on the day now known as St. Valentine’s Day was possibly one of these three martyred men named Valentinus who lived in the late third century, during the reign of Emperor Claudius II (who died in 270)
