Knapsackheroes! in Hard Rock Battle of the Bands – Interview with Percussionist Justin P. Mitchell

Knapsackheroes! in Hard Rock Battle of the Bands – Interview with Percussionist Justin P. Mitchell

It’s hard to define the music of Knapsackheroes! and that seems to be a deliberate move on the band’s part as they zig zag across musical genres refusing to be nailed down. With their beginnings in Nashville, they had their pick of genres to develop and they chose to blend several styles into their own unique mix.

Nashville loses a gospel music fixture as “The Brian Mason Show” leaves the air

A beloved Sunday morning tradition is coming to an end as radio personality Brian Mason has announced his decision to bring “The Brian Mason Show” to an end on Sunday, June 26, 2011. The gospel music program started as a half hour show on  WSM-FM, which, at the time played mainstream, adult contemporary music.

Knapsackheroes! makes top 10 in the U.S. in Hard Rock Battle of the Bands

Knapsackheroes! makes top 10 in the U.S. in Hard Rock Battle of the Bands

You never know who you will run into in Nashville when you go for a burrito run. Take yesterday, for example, when I ran into Justin Paul Mitchell, percussionist for the hard-to-define Nashville band Knapsackheroes! at Blue Coast Burritos. Striking up a conversation, he handed me a flier asking me to vote to help send Knapsackheroes! to London to open for Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart and Bon Jovi if they win the Hard Rock Battle of the Bands competition.

Wes Bentley Faces His Demons & Dragons in ‘There Be Dragons’

Wes Bentley Faces His Demons & Dragons in ‘There Be Dragons’

I love inspirational movies, and I often wonder if the actors are touched by the moving, inspirational stories and dialogue they are part of. At least one movie has had such an impact. “There Be Dragons,” the upcoming historical epic written and directed by Roland Joffé which will be in theaters in May, has already had a profound impact on actor Wes Bentley
