Country-gospel singer Loretta Lynn cancels concerts due to pneumonia; now home
Country and gospel music singer Loretta Lynn was in the hospital over the weekend with the early stages of pneumonia. Lynn, who is 76, was scheduled to perform in KY and N.C. but had to cancel the concerts due to her illness.

In the “Desperately Trying to Make News Out of Nothing Department,” people with nothing better to do with their time have been trying to make a Big Deal out of a photo of actor, evangelist and author Kirk Cameron blowing out the candles on a birthday cake in the conference room at Living Waters Ministry in Bellflower, Calif. on his 41st birthday.

Nashville’s 32nd Oktoberfest celebrates faith, friendship & fun
Nashville’s 32nd annual Oktoberfest took place on Oct. 8 in the historic Germantown community. Hosted by the Church of the Assumption and Monroe Street United Methodist Church, Oktoberfest is a free, not-for-profit event with proceeds going to the continuing restoration of historic Assumption Catholic Church and Monroe Street United Methodist Church, as well as continuing outreach projects for the needy.

Nashville Christian music artist and five-time GRAMMY® award-winner TobyMac released his first Christmas album ever, “Christmas in Diverse City,” today (Oct. 5, 2011). The holiday project features collaborations with Owl City, Sixpence None the Richer’s Leigh Nash, and Jamie Grace. The album also spotlights performances and songs from TobyMac’s own band, Diverse City.
