Book Reviews

Reading is my favorite pastime, so I have reviewed many books. This list is some of the books I have taken the time to write up:

Traveling the Two Roads Through Narnia – A Book Review – Two Roads Through Narnia is an enjoyable and informative read for newcomers to Narnia and hardcore fans.

The Scavengers – a Review of Book One of a New Christian Fantasy Series – My review of an advance copy of “The Scavengers,” Book One of the new Christian Fantasy series, the Tyrfingr Chronicles

Dark Things by David M. Humphrey, Sr. – A Book Review – Dark Things, released in June of 2005, is very timely in light of Barack Obama’s election, because the story line of Dark Things deals with the conception and birth of America’s first black president.
House a Supernatural Thriller by Frank Peretti & Ted Dekker – Book Review – House, is an epic supernatural thriller about two couples fleeing from a demonic killer in rural Alabama.
A review of The Da Vinci Code from a historic point of view.
Author John Granger is looking for God in the Harry Potter series Although Granger makes some astute, well-considered, even tantalizing points, he often appears to be stretching as much as Harry himself trying to grasp the elusive Golden Snitch.
The title of this book is a play on words, reflecting the Amish way of naming a child after his father as in “Levi’s (son) Will,” as well as a reference to the stubborn will of the father, Levi, and the will bequeathed upon his death
Sussman encourages women to get to know themselves better as well as to understand male behavior, motivation, drive and subtle clues.
“The Children of Hurin” is a “prequel” of several thousand years to the story told in The Lord of the Rings although many of the characters will be familiar.
Tracy Groot weaves the compelling tale of Tallis, a Greek philosopher’s servant, who is sent to visit an academy in Palestine only to find that the school has disappeared under disturbing circumstances.
With great anticipation I have been awaiting the fourth and final book in the “Legends of the Guardian King” series by Karen Hancock, and I was thrilled when my review copy arrived.
With the release of Flashpoint: Book One of the Underground, author Frank Creed reaches out to Christian tweens, science fiction and cyberpunk fans.
A look at a book that teaches authors how to do the nitty gritty of publicizing, promoting and selling their book
A Tribute to Mayberry is a collection of photos and poems about Mayberry and “The Andy Griffith Show”
A review of the book “Finding God in the Lord of the Rings” by Kurt Bruner & Jim Ware.
Twilight, the uber-popular book by Mormon mom Stephanie Meyer, is that rare phenomena – a sexy book (and movie) about virtue, conscience, and good, old-fashioned morals and manners.
Before The Rule of Four can be well reviewed, it is necessary to mention another work, the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili: The Strife of Love in a Dream.
Bonus Book & Author Articles:

The leading authority on “The Andy Griffith Show” talks about Mayberry, TAGSRWC, Mayberry days, and everything Mayberr
A look at some sources of fellowship in the life of J.R.R. Tolkien that helped inspire the fellowships found in The Lord of the Rings.
