Buzz Cason & the Love Notes: ‘Living the Rock ‘N’ Roll Dream’ in Nashville Apr. 21

Music Legend Buzz Cason, founder of Nashville’s first rock ‘n’ roll band “The Casuals” as well as a noted singer, songwriter, author and producer, will bring a special evening of rock ‘n roll, country and surf music to the Franklin Theatre in Franklin/Nashville, TN on Sat., April 21 at 8 p.m. The Buzz Cason and The Love Notes: “Living The Rock ‘N’ Roll Dream” event will feature music from Cason as well as performances by opening act Anthony Crawford and Savana Lee Crawford of Sugarcane Jane.

Country-gospel singer Loretta Lynn cancels concerts due to pneumonia; now home

Country and gospel music singer Loretta Lynn was in the hospital over the weekend with the early stages of pneumonia. Lynn, who is 76, was scheduled to perform in KY and N.C. but had to cancel the concerts due to her illness.

With Lindsey Lohan’s probation hearing set for February 23, 2011, Prison Minister Marty Angelo of Marty Angelo Outreach Ministry to Prisons, Substance Abuse Recovery Programs and Troubled Celebrities, sent a letter to Lindsey Lohan on February 9, suggesting a faith-based residential treatment program to the young actress. This was not the first time Angelo has reached out to Lohan.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Country Strong” Filmed in Nashville – a Local Perspective

Recently, I had the unusual opportunity to be an extra in the new Gwyneth Paltrow movie, “Country Strong.” At the time we were filming, the movie was being called “Love Don’t Let Me Down,” and much of the movie was filmed in and around my hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.

With the release of Pure Country 2: The Gift into select theaters on October 15, director Chris Cain and star Katrina Elam were part of a press junket for interviews at Nashville’s historic Millennium Maxwell house Hotel the week of the movie’s release. Elam was also a performer on the Inspirational Country Music Awards (formerly the Christian Country Music Awards), so we started the interview with a look at her gospel roots.
